Full Title: Global Warming and the Pacific Northwest: Sockeye Salmon Run Dry

Full view please.

This is the second in a series focusing on the present and future effects of global warming in the Pacific Northwest. Each "present" piece will have a sister illustration, showing how the environment will have changed in the future as global warming progresses. This is the conclusion to: [link]

Pictured here is the surreal demise of Pacific Northwest salmon as a result of human carelessness and pollution. Though what’s pictured here is surrealism, sockeye salmon, as well as many other species of fish, face decreasing numbers, in real life. Drought and rising water temperatures will become a real threat if human factors that contribute to global warming continue to progress.

I hope that the future shown here will never come to pass. It is my goal to help inspire change in you; to help stop the destruction of the nature we take for granted, not only in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, but around the world.

More pieces to come...

It's a bad time to be a fish anywhere (or a cetacean for that matter).

Agreed. It feels so eerie to have more whales beaching themselves more regularly. Not to mention the ones getting lost.

At a Christmas party someone said that the prawns weren't up to scratch and I said that there was a good posibility that that particular fishery could be gone next year (it had been on the tv the night before).
His reply was "I'll worry about that next year."

Typical!
